There were these two ol' car guys reminiscing about the good old days. Fast, cool cars, car clubs, and memories of "back in the day" that they just wanted to revisit once more.
They live in a town called Sierra City, an old gold mining town at the base of the Sierra Buttes. It is one of the most beautiful places in California, postcard views every way you look. Quite a jewel of a town, yet not many know of its existence. Those that do, come back year after year.
Almost every day those two motorheads would spend time after work talking of hot rods, fire breathing engines, tire smoking hot rods, and the one that got away.
Over and over, they talked of doing a car show. Both were so busy that they never quite got around to it, but that did not stop their dreaming of hot rods making that beautiful cruise up Highway 49 to the "one cool car show" that they would have in their town.
One day the intelligent wife of one of these men had her fill of all the talk. She walked over to the wall where a calendar hung, took it from its nail and said, "That's it, pick a date." They did, and the Highwaymen Car Club • Norcal was begun, the dream of the “Big City Rod Run & Car Show” was realized, and the rest is history.
What great visionaries the two men were!!!
